Killed it...Kindergarten

We have a Kindergarten graduate.  At times it may have been touch and go, but all in all Cohen conquered his first year.  Most important lesson learned by Mom:  make sure to tell them when they're leaving somewhere, and when they'll be staying.  Here's why.  About 2 months ago Cohen begged us to stay at Carondelet next year.  I was confused about where else he thought he was going until he sweetly told me that he didn't stay at Morningside preschool (always only a 1 year plan), or St. Peter's (also only a 1 year plan).  Dammit....no wonder he worried, kid's an army brat already the way we enroll and switch him every year.  So we talked about how we stay at school now, how those other schools were "pre" or "before" school.  Try not telling a 6 year old that Kindergarten is the real deal:  report cards and grades and nothing prior really counted.  I don't really mean that, it counted, but in the transcripts and grades kind of way, totally different.

Happy Graduation Cohen-you rock, as evidenced by your self portrait below! Oh, and get comfy, but not too comfy, because you're staying for first grade.

By the way, graduation entailed both classes singing really cute songs.  Even with emotions high, I still secretly hoped when each song ended the class would bust into "Super Bass" Sophia Grace style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9573kGBtuE.  It didn't happen but "This little light of mine" has really never been cuter!

    1. gotta love how Sean screamed when i asked him to please put the guitar down, so in one picture he's actually looking me in the eye and strumming the guitar to prove how he won that battle!

    2. Laughing and still laughing at your comment! Of course he would do that -- Sean knows what he wants and what he needs to do. He figures it out! That's the picture I love! You rock Sean!!!
